How to get there
Take a look at the map:
Coming from Rio de Janeiro: it takes about 2 hours. After passing Rio-Niteroi Bridge, turn left onto Rio Bonito bound. Right after Rio Bonito turn right on Via Lagos Street onto Araruama / Cabo Frio (Região dos Lagos) bound. When Via Lagos Street is over, go ahead for 5 km up to Ipiranga Gas Station in the way to São Pedro da Aldeia. Take, then, RJ – 106 Road onto Macaé / Buzios bound. After 14 km (right after “Até que enfim” Gas Station) turn right and go ahead for about 10 minutes till Buzios.
Coming from Rio northbound: coming through BR - 101 Road, take the way to Rio das Ostras and go ahead for 56 km till Buzios.
Coming from Belo Horizonte: driving through Petropolis, go down the mountains and take Rio-Petropolis Road till Magé. Follow onto Manilha and Rio Bonito bound (BR-101) and then follow the same directions from "coming from Rio de Janeiro".
Fees to pay – from Rio de Janeiro: . Rio-Niteroi Bridge: R$ 3,20 – charged only on the going; . Via Lagos (RJ-124): R$ 7,00 on week days and R$ 10,70 on weekends – charged on the going and the returning.

Búzios Buzios has a little bit more than 8 km of extension. As soon as you get to the city, you’ll see the new portico of Buzios, go straight ahead onto downtown bound of the peninsula. Upon getting to the Usina Road, there is a gas station – ALLE – on the right, then turn right and soon you’ll get to Bucaneiro Pousada, or you’ll certainly pass by it if you decide to follow the road indications on Forno or Brava Beaches.
Coming by bus: Please note that the only bus station is the one on Usina Road and the way to Bucaneiro Pousada is about 10 minutes of walking distance.
From Rio to Buzios – non-stop: Daily departures from Novo Rio Bus Station with the bus company Viação 1001 that offers the following schedule: . Leaving: 08:45am, 09:00am, 09:15am, 09:45am, 10:15am, 11:15am, 01:15pm, 03:00pm, 03:15pm, 05:00pm, 05:15pm, 07:30pm. . Returning: 07:00 am, 09:00am, 11:00am, 01:00pm, 03:00pm, 05:00pm and 07:00pm (regular or air-conditioned buses). Schedule and prices as per Viação 1001 bus company.

TIPS:
You can buy tickets in advance with your credit card through Viação 1001 website or phone number.
It is advisable that tickets be bought in advance during high season and holidays. We recommend that you always confirm schedule and prices.
To get to Novo Rio Bus Station from Rio International Airport you can take taxis (about R$ 30,00) or air-conditioned buses (called frescão) from Viação Real bus company, with frequent departures all day long.
From São Paulo to Buzios – non-stop: Departures on Fridays at 09:50 pm and returnings on Sundays at 09:30 pm.
Through Cabo Frio:
Viação 1001 departures every hour from Rio, Niteroi and São Paulo to Cabo Frio, where you take Viação Salineira bus company (22 – 2645-5454 or 0800-245454) up to Buzios. Viação Salineira has daily departures every 20 minute. You can also take taxis up to Buzios for about R$ 30,00 the ride.

Coming by plane:Buzios – RJ – Airport
